Jeannine M. Plesnicher

Woodlands, TX - Jeannine M. Plesnicher "J9", passed away peacefully on October 12, 2020, in The Woodlands, TX. She was 100 years old.

During WWII, J9 was a young mother, secretary, model and performer, appearing with Greer Garson and Frankie Laine. She worked in a plant where she met a reserved widower, Carl Plesnicher Sr. He was matter of fact, kind and sincere. She gave up show business and married "Daddy Carl" in 1945, combining their households and 3 young sons. J9 considered it the highest compliment that no one could tell which son was brought to the marriage by which parent. She and Daddy Carl didn't care. They all belonged to each other. They were a family.

J9 never met a stranger. She shared her joy and faith with others. J9 and Daddy Carl were Sunday School teachers and youth group sponsors to a generation of "Twinsburgers". No matter where she lived, J9 could be found serving in a church or community center, a practice she continued until she gave up driving in her mid-90s. J9 lived in Ohio, Georgia, Hawaii and Texas (twice). She bloomed where she was planted. She lived each day with gratitude and purpose, even after she lost Daddy Carl in 1994. Even her temporary disappointment about moving to assisted living gave way to anticipation. She was ready to pack up and go where she was called. After all, she reasoned, there had to be people there who did not know the Lord. Finding them (wherever she went) was her highest purpose and privilege.

J9 survived both stage 4 melanoma and bladder cancer. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Cancer Information Service where she served patients and their families. For her service, she received multiple service awards in both Hawaii and Texas, as well as a nomination by the city of Honolulu for Outstanding Senior Citizen.

J9 was proudest of her family. Carl Jr., Ron and Bob Plesnicher were loved fiercely and raised with expectations and standards. Their wives, Laurie, Susan and Sally were the daughters J9 never had. She was grandmother to Jackie (Mike), Mark (Robin), Suzanne (Nick), Mindy (Shawn), Debbie (Carl) and Christine (Dennis); great grandmother to Avery, Nathan (Haley), Bryce, Marlena, Morgan, Marie, Brooke, Kameron, Kaylie, Carl (CJ), Aaron (AJ) and James and great, great grandmother to Vienna. She leaves behind beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Her "circle" extends from coast to coast and beyond. Her legacy of love, resilience and faith surpasses the 100 years she spent on this side of eternity. J9's remarkable life was celebrated at a private memorial service on October 24, 2020.
