Florence 'Florie' Stanks
With great sadness, the family of Florence (Florie) Stanks announces her passing on October 12, 2020.
Florie is lovingly remembered by her children, Caroll Stanks Chronister (William), David Stanks (Raeann), Amy Zakiewicz (Gary), siblings Richard Konnar and Marlene Konnar (John Baldeschwieler), brother-in-law Tom Stanks (Helen), as well as her six grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Gene Stanks, and by her sister, Cecelia Dolores Sigal.
Florie spent the past year living at Primrose Retirement Community in Mishawaka, Indiana, where she thoroughly enjoyed the activities and friendship of the staff and fellow residents.
Prior to moving to Indiana, Florie was a 60-year resident of Hudson where she attended Christ Community Chapel, studied "A Course in Miracles", and was an active member at LifeCenter Plus. She also enjoyed the lasting relationships she developed while working as a Hudson realtor and later, writing the column "Around Town with Florie" for the Hudson Hub-Times.
Florie had a dynamic, vibrant, and vivacious personality. She was an engaging conversationalist with keen intelligence and a delightful sense of humor. As an avid reader, she loved spending time at the Hudson Library where she participated in various programs. She leaves behind many joyful memories with family and friends.
Abiding by Florie's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hudson Library & Historical Society, 96 Library St., Hudson, Ohio 44236.
