Lynn Louise Hubach, 61, born July 26, 1958 in Bronxville, NY, died peacefully on May 15, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis E. and Mildred W. Hubach. Lynn leaves behind a brother, Bruce W, Hubach, a sister-in-law and 2 nieces, of Hudson.
Lynn moved to Aurora, OH in 1964 with her family. She proudly attended The Ohio State University, graduating cum laude in 1980. During college, she spent two summers working at Yellowstone National Park, and loved being in a sorority, Alpha Chi Omega.
After graduating from OSU, she continued to work in national parks out west for several years, and eventually transitioned to working in risk management for ski resorts. This led her to a risk management job in New York State, and eventually back to the Cleveland area in 1997. Upon returning to Northeast Ohio, she worked for Progressive Insurance, the Cleveland Clinic and finally Joann Fabrics.
Lynn loved basket-weaving, crafting and wood-carving with her father. Most of all, she loved to volunteer her time to help others.
In July 2004, Lynn was diagnosed with Stage 2-3 breast cancer, which returned in 2014 at stage 4. She fought with determination, courage and bravery to beat her cancer, and was a strong supporter of others who work to eradicate this frustrating disease.
Lynn was an animal lover, and proud caregiver to ten cats, who she adored. This passion led her to leave her entire estate to the Portage County Animal Protective League (APL). In lieu of a memorial service, a celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at a later date. (AA, 5/27/20)
