Edwin Bruce Winters went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Bruce lived in the Stow area working with his Father and Mother at their service stations, most notably Cliff’s Sunoco at Stow Corners. He was an over the road truck driver, as well as a gifted mechanic. He had near 28 years of public service working for Summit County with a lot of fine folks who helped in various ways through his illness. Preceded in death by his father Clifford Winters, step-father Richard Nitzsche, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and many rescued animals over his lifetime. He is survived by his mother Mary, wife Susan, sons John (mother Tammy Burnside) and Jeffrey (Megan), daughter Ashley (Lauren), and his beloved dog, cats, and ferrets. He was the epitome of hardwork and kindness. Often imitated, never duplicated. No services as he didn’t want to have any. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice and tell someone you love them. (SS, 6/7/20)
