Matthew Michael (Mike) Mattmuller
Michael passed away on April 14, 2020 after 8 plus years of fighting Mesothelioma.
Michael was born to Dave and Dianna Mattmuller on March 13, 1982. He grew up in Aurora, Ohio where he graduated from High school in 2000. He was very active in high school where participated in sports, band and academics. He was an all league defensive end, a state qualifier in wrestling, a 4 year letterman in track, played trumpet in marching and jazz band and was inducted into the National Honorary Society.
He went on to the University of West Virginia where he majored in Civil Engineering. While there he was a founding father of the reinstated Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He graduated in 2004. He move to Maryland where he worked for several engineering firms. He met the love of his life, Jessica Auge and married her in 2010. In 2016 they welcomed into the family Riley Jean.
Michael was very active in the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. He was a regional leader and testified many times before congressional committees in Washington D.C. He was given the Alan Reinstein Award in 2017 From ADAO for outstanding contributions.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, Jessica and Riley Mattmuller, His parents Dave and Dianna Mattmuller, his brother’s family, Jonathan, Kris and daughters, his grandmother Donna Mattmuller and other aunts, uncles and cousins..
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
