CAMBRIDGE - Judith M. (Judy) Leyshon went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2019. Judy was born 9/27/1939 to the late Arthur & Martha Mitchell of Cambridge. Judy spent 59 years with the love of her life, the late Frank K. Leyshon. They made their home in Cambridge where they raised 5 children who were the pride of her life.
Judy spent much of her time following all of her children and grandchildren in all their activities. Judy worked as an accountant, keeping books for companies and doing individual and business tax returns. She was an active member of the YMCA for much of her life and spent time serving as a swim coach and it’s Executive Director. Judy also served many years on the Cambridge Tree Commission and bringing her passion for gardening to the Cambridge City streets.
Judy was an active member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Cambridge. She served through the years as a Deacon and an Elder and thoroughly enjoyed being the treasure of the church for years, serving through her death.
Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank, her son Richard E Leyshon, her parents Arthur &Martha Mitchell, in-laws Frank & Dorothy Leyshon and brother James and wife Shirley Mitchell.
She is survived by Frank A & Julie Leyshon of FL, Martha Waddell of Cambridge, Robert & Brad Sahl-Leyshon of Chicago, Chad Leyshon of Cambridge, granddaughters, Roxanne & Nick White of Mentor, Elizabeth Waddell of Mississippi and Emilee Waddell of Cambridge. Also surviving are her sister Joyce & Carl Allen of Cambridge and brother, Jack Mitchell of WA. Her nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, Kimberly, Kevin, Tim, Beth, Debbie and David.
A celebration of life will take place at Unity Presbyterian church, 130 N. 7th Street, Cambridge on Thursday October 10, 2019 at 7 PM. Doors will open at 6:30. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Guersney at P.O. Box 1165 Cambridge, Ohio or to Unity Presbyterian Church at 130 N. 7th Street Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
