Louise M. Strecker

1920-2019

HUDSON - Louise M. Strecker (née Maliski) age 98 of Hudson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019. She was born December 7, 1920, in Ithaca, New York, daughter of the late William and Anna Maliski, the beloved wife of the late H. Arthur Strecker; loving mother of Richard (Dee), James (Kitty), David (Peggy), Ellen (Craig Miller), and Phillip (Cathy); cherished grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother of thirteen; dear sister to her four brothers and three sisters (all deceased); and a loving aunt of many. She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends at Laurel Lake, especially her dear friend Ann.

A celebration of Louise's life will take place at 2 o’clock on October 5, 2019 at the Laurel Lake Retirement Community in the Serenity Chapel, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson, Ohio. Interment has taken place privately at Markillie Cemetery.

Louise met her husband Art when he was a student at Cornell University. They were married on May 23, 1942, and raised a family of five in Bedford and Walton Hills. They moved to Hudson in 1999.

She enjoyed attending Elder Hostels and participating in Volksmarches around Ohio. Trophies for golf and bowling filled her shelves and swimming was her passion. She was a Den Mother and Girl Scout leader, a member of the Bedford Hospital Guild, Bedford Garden Club, Walton Hills Lake Club and many other volunteer activities. After moving to Laurel Lake Retirement Community she became involved in their TLC Program and Centering Prayer group. She will be remembered for her determination, kindness and her beautiful smile.
