WORTHINGTON - Treba Gayle Hill, age 89 of Worthington, Ohio, passed away peacefully with family at her side on February 26, 2019.

She was born March 21, 1929, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and was married in 1947 to her beloved and surviving husband Benjamin M. Hill. Treba and Ben celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with extended family and friends in 2017 at the Worthington Inn. Treba was the daughter of Alvin and Sally Murdock of Ada, Oklahoma and was one of among seven children.

Her predeceased sisters and brother were: Xyla Richardson; Ouda Bailey; Fleeta Burrows; Wanda McCormick; and Marquis Murdock. Treba’s only surviving sister is Delma Loftis. Treba is survived by her two children, Brent Hill, Cleveland, Ohio and Jennifer Sims, Worthington, Ohio and her beloved grandchildren, Brad and Emily Korosec, Mark Korosec, Matt Korosec, and Courtney Korosec, and her great-grandchildren, Audrey, Daniel, Margaret Korosec, Theo Gallagher and Estelle Gallagher.

Treba and her husband Ben moved to Worthington from Aurora, Ohio in 2014 to be near their daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Bill Sims, also of Worthington. A faithful Christian, Treba was the church organist for 34 years at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Orange Village, Ohio. She was also a composer and notably composed music to celebrate the birth of each of her grandchildren. With an Associate’s Degree in early childhood education, Treba spent most of her professional career in education with the Maple Heights City Schools just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, and served as president of the PTA at Raymond Elementary in Maple Heights. Treba was the bride of her naval-war-hero, Benjamin, who fought and was wounded in the Pacific during World War II.
