FRED A. BALDWIN

Former Aurora police officer

Services were July 30 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home in Streetsboro for Fred A. Baldwin Sr., 58, of Ravenna, who died July 25, 2015 at University Hospitals in Cleveland.

Born June 1, 1957, in Cleveland to Fred S. and Janice (Anderle) Baldwin, he lived in Ravenna the past seven years, and formerly resided in Mantua.

He worked for Brown-Mackie College as a regional vice president, and formerly worked for the Aurora Police Department and was an associate professor at the University of Akron.

Mr. Baldwin was an avid baseball fan, playing in his younger days and coaching and watching when he got older. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Holden Beach, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his mother Janice Baldwin and his son Colby Baldwin.

Survivors include his children Fred Baldwin Jr. and Kara Baldwin, both of Ravenna; father and step-mother Fred and Judy Baldwin of Twinsburg; siblings James (Terrie) Baldwin of Willoughby, Jane (Chuck) Shea of South Carolina and Donna (Mike) Saunders of Medina; and step-siblings Jerry Fioretti of Madison, Pat Fioretti of New Philadelphia and Lisa Virzi of New Hampshire.
