JOSEPH JEROME MONTANA SR.World War II veteranJoseph Jerome Montana Sr., 81, died Nov. 16, 2007. Mr. Montana was born on Aug. 23, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York and lived the majority of his life in Cuyahoga Falls. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, was a businessman and retired from sales. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.Preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Rosalie Montana; and sisters Mary, Frances and Angela, he is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 61 years, and daughters, Rosemarie (Greg) Felder of North Carolina, and Maryann (Bill) Selers of Hudson; sons, Anthony (Janet) of Stow, and Joe Jr. (Helen) of Uniontown. He had four granddaughters, Aimee, Christina, Rose, and Erica.Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Private inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or Our Lady of Consolation Shrine, 315 Clay St., Carey, OH 43316-1498 in his memory.Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
