Founder of The Center for Body Mind Harmony in Tallmadge

David L. Schenk, 57, died June 10, 2007 at his home with his family at his side.

For more than 30 years Mr. Schenk found his passion in the Chinese Martial Arts and was founder of The Center for Body Mind Harmony in Tallmadge where he was a master and teacher. He was a writer and author, a lover of life. Mr. Schenk always felt that nature was his teacher and he found tremendous strength and peace in its presence. He was a youth leader for the Tallmadge Unity and then later started the YOU of Medina with his wife.

Mr. Schenk was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Schenk. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; son, Kain; daughter, Kara; mother, Dorothy Schenk; brothers, Bruce (Mary) Schenk, Barry (Judy) Schenk, Fred Schenk; and sisters, Patty Schenk, Cheryl (Joe) DeTemple.

Friends are invited to join the family, church family, friends and students June 24 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. following church services at Williams on the Lake, 787 W. Lafayette Road. Unity of Medina, with the cooperation of the Williams family, opens the doors to celebrating Mr. Schenk's life as one. There will be a special blessing for Sifu David Schenk by his Tai Chi students at the close of the celebration.
