He belonged to the Operating Engineers, Local 18, and operated heavy equipment. She attended Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., and graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught school in West Virginia and Ohio for 37 years, retiring in 1984. She married Leo Bays in 1950 and moved to Ohio in 1954.Mrs. Bays was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Denver McClung, and sister Juanita Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Leo E. of Munroe Falls; daughter Willa Jill (James) Armbrust of Silver Lake; grandchildren Emily and Jonathan Armbrust; sister Alice Springston; and nieces and nephews.Funeral services were at the Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, with the Rev. Balley, 82, died Jan. 16, 2007.She was born and raised in Canton before graduating as a registered nurse from Baldwin-Wallace. She retired from the Akron School of Practical Nursing. She was a member of a local Church of the Nazarene.Mrs. Balley was preceded in death by her husband, Hillson "Bill" Balley, and parents, Henry and Hilda Lent. She is survived by daughters Juanita (Jim) Williams of San Antonio, and Heidi (Anthony) Soltis of Barberton; sons Bryan Balley of San Antonio, and James (Pamela) Balley of North Canton; grandchildren Treena, Dennis, Megan, Andrea, Mike, Diane and Christine; great-grandchildren Deanna, Samantha, Matthew, Dennis, Tiffany, Austin, Tim, Daniel, Megan and John; and sister Joanne Kovacks.Services were conducted at the Emmanuel Christian Assembly in Barberton, with the Rev.
