The 2020 Stow-Munroe Falls-Hudson Relay For Life will take place virtually via Facebook live on Saturday, Aug. 15. Opening ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. on the Relay For Life of Stow-Munroe Falls-Hudson Facebook page.
Covid-19 has greatly affected Relay’s ability to carry out fundraising this year. Monies raised by Relay help support many services provided by the American Cancer Society and there are several fundraisers currently taking place.
Light Up Your Town by purchasing purple light bulbs. The bulbs come with a remote, which allows for additional colors and cost $15 each. Bulbs are available for pickup, delivery within 20 miles of Stow City Hall or shipping at an additional cost. To order online, go to http://?relayforlife.org/?stowhudson, contact Relay For Life participants or call Tammy Denton at 330-283-3591 to purchase by phone and submit payment via Paypal, Venmo, Zelle or Cashapp.
Let Hope Fly with a Relay For Life garden flag. Flags are purple and printed on both sides with words and phrases relating to Relay. Flags are $15 each and may be ordered online at http://?relayforlife.org/?stowhudson, contacting a Relay team member or email email@example.com.
Flock A Friend with a flock of pink flamingos. The flock may be delivered to destinations within 20 miles of Stow City Hall and will nest for 24 – 48 hours. Prices vary, starting at $30 to be delivered on a random date or $50 for a specific date, such as a birthday or anniversary surprise. For an additional fee, flocking insurance may be purchased to protect your yard from flocks or find out who flocked you for a tattling fee. Order forms may be found online at http://?relayforlife.org/?stowhudson or contact Becky at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Luminaria may be purchased in honor of a cancer survivor or in memory of a loved one. This year, traditional luminary bags are available for $10 or a Light of Love is available for $20. Luminaria may be purchased online on the Relay website. General donations may also be made on the website, http://?relayforlife.org/?stowhudson.
The 2020 Survivor Ambassador is Christina Shaw. She will be leading the survivor parade departing from Stow City Hall at approximately 3:30. If you are a cancer survivor or are currently battling cancer and would like to participate, contact Norene Jones at 330-475-3567, email email@example.com or register online at http://?relayforlife.org/?stowhudson.
Relay is grateful for the support of the city officials of Stow, Munroe Falls and Hudson and to the residents. Be sure to check the Facebook page to stay up to date on upcoming events.
