The Kym Sellers Foundation’s 11th Annual Golf Outing for Multiple Sclerosis is being held Aug. 7 at Grantwood Golf Course. Social distancing practices and safety measures will be in place while enthusiastic golfers and volunteers gather to support this worthwhile cause.

Kym Sellers, a former WZAK Radio One personality, a long-time resident of Aurora and mother of four daughters (Aurora Greenmen), was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. In 2000, Kym created The Kym Sellers Foundation, and since has devoted her life to increasing awareness and providing education to individuals and their families who are living with this potentially devastating and mysterious disease.

In the past, with resources raised from fundraisers like the annual golf outing, The KSF provided free workshops, seminars and other educational programs on MS with topics that included new medical treatments, employment and disability law, wellness, alternative therapies, exercise and diet, and more.

Fueled by COVID-19, in 2020 The KSF has taken on new educational and outreach initiatives.

Since April, The KSF has mailed out over 2,000 PPE face masks to the MS community, their families and churches. In addition, weekly health updates are posted on The KSF websites. Also, The KSF is launching a bi-weekly podcast series designed to: create MS awareness, provide other related health education, engage with spiritual wellness and share the personal stories and triumphs of individuals with MS, to name just a few.

The golfers and event volunteers, from Northeast Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania will rally together to ensure a safe and fun-filled event. Support for the event comes from special sponsors, hole sponsors and donors from individuals, corporations and organizations throughout Northeast Ohio.

The Aurora community will be in full swing to support this worthy Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser.

Some of Aurora’s major sponsors include: Aurora Councilwoman Kathleen Grandillo; Salvatore and Michelle Zingale, The Sanson Co.; Brad and Brooke Rosselot, Mazzulo’s Market; and Mitch Camp, Walden, Head Golf Professional.
