The Hudson Library and Historical Society is closed for cleaning after a patron who was reportedly exposed to the coronavirus was found to have entered the building Tuesday.

“We were informed that a customer who entered the library building today was exposed to COVID-19,” the library said in an announcement. “In the best interest of our community, we will be shutting down the facility effective immediately for a deep cleaning. We will reopen as soon as possible. Please check the website for updates.”

The library’s drive-thru window and curbside service are also suspended and returns are not being accepted. Overdue fines and late fees will also be waived. Virtual services and programming will continue.

“We are sorry about this inconvenience but it is imperative that all customers stay home if they are feeling sick or if they have been exposed to COVID-19. Thank you for your cooperation,” the announcement said.

Further information was not immediately available.
