CUYAHOGA FALLS — A 19-year-old shot to death at a hotel Saturday night has been identified but police said they still need witnesses to come forward to help find his killer.
The man has been identified as Ajonte Dardie, 19, of Cuyahoga Falls, by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. Cuyahoga Falls police said he was shot to death about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police responded to the Sheraton Suites near Front Street and Broad Boulevard for a shooting. Capt. Todd Shafer said officers were already in the hotel responding to other calls when it happened.
He said Tuesday morning that there were no updates on the investigation. Shafer stressed the need for any witnesses to come forward to help police solve the case.
Anyone with more information is encouraged to call the Cuyahoga Falls detectives line at 330-971-8334 or the Crime Fighters Tip Line at 330-971-8477.
Shafer said there were multiple parties at the hotel at the time. Officers are assuming there may have been a party ongoing when the shooting happened.
Police released five 911 call recordings from the incident. People can be heard requesting police come to the hotel. In each call, several people can be heard in the background.
None of the calls appeared to provide more information on what happened leading up to the shooting.
