TALLMADGE – The city hall will allow visitors through its doors starting July 1.
Tallmadge City Hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for visitors without an appointment, said Dr. Donald Cooper, director of administration, at the June 25 council meeting.
"We’re doing everything we can to plan that it is done safely," he said.
Visitors will need to enter the reception area from the main entrance one at a time, and a receptionist will try to address the needs of the visitor, Cooper said. If an employee is needed, that person will be called to meet the visitor.
Visitors will also be given a phone number, email or other guidance so that they will not have to move further into the building. Meetings may be conducted in the council chambers to allow social distancing.
The city recommends the public call the office at 330-633-0090 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions, requests or to make an appointment. For all permitting, mail/email/drop-off the completed forms. Payments can be made by mail or with credit card.
"There’s no perfect way to do this," Cooper said. "We need to practice social distancing and wear a mask in public."
Director of Public Service Michael Rorar said the parks are open as well as tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball courts and all playgrounds except for Maca Park. The Tallmadge Recreation Center is open with limited hours but there is no child care.
All parks programs and indoor activities are canceled until further notice.
