Starting Monday, June 29, the intersection of Howe Avenue at the Home Depot entrance will be closed for seven days for road reconstruction.

Motorists who are traveling west on Howe will not be able to turn right into the Home Deport entrance, according to Ray Marsch, Ohio Department of Transportation office spokesperson. Westbound drivers wishing to go to Home Depot or other neighboring businesses in that area would have to go to Main Street, make a right and then access the businesses from one of the driveways along Main.

This work is part of a $5.9 million project to reconstruct eastbound Howe Avenue from Main Street to the Applebee’s driveway, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. That section of the road has been closed since early April and will remain shut down until the project is finished in September.

Vehicles traveling east on Howe are being detoured south on Home Avenue, east on Independence Avenue and north on Buchholzer Boulevard. Two lanes of traffic going westbound are being maintained at all times between Main and Applebee’s.
