Man reports threats: A West Howe Road man reported an unknown person sent him texts threatening to reveal false sensitive information to family and friends if he did not pay $2,000 in the form of a gift card. Police said that even while the man was talking to police, the person texted him several times and the man texted back, telling the person to not contact him again.
Breaking and entering
Suspect left blood behind: Police said that while on patrol at about 5:20 a.m. May 25, an officer found someone apparently broke into a business in Kennedy Drive’s 500 block by breaking a window and was apparently cut, leaving blood behind. Police said they searched the area, but no one was found. Nothing was reported stolen and the damage was estimated at $300.
License plates stolen: A man reported someone stole both of his vehicle’s license plates while the vehicle was either parked outside an unspecified store during the early evening May 23 or outside his home in South Munroe Road’s 1100 block prior to that since the evening before.
Money taken from account: A Tallmadge woman reported someone fraudulently charged a little over $500 to an account that a relative has with a financial institution. The woman said she was disputing the charges and the financial institution asked that she file a police report.
Theft from vehicle reported: A Whitehall Drive woman reported May 20 that someone took CDs totaling about $30 in value and her car’s title from the unlocked car while it was parked outside her home since the evening before.
Trailer and tools taken: Police said they responded to a May 20 report that someone stole a trailer containing tools totaling as much as $20,000 in value from a construction site in Northwest Avenue’s 600 block since the day before.
