TWINSBURG — A motorcycle rider was flown by helicopter to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center following a motorcycle crash Sunday night, Assistant Fire Chief Steve Bosso said.

Bosso said the motorcyclist, who he believes is a 29-year-old Twinsburg man, apparently lost control and ran into some mailboxes on Sherwin Drive around Cynthia Drive at about 8 p.m.

Bosso said the man was "semi-conscious," but he did not have any updated information about the man’s condition.

"I know he was having difficulty breathing," said Bosso. "His injuries were enough to warrant being flown. He was wearing a helmet."

Bosso said the road was closed for about 90 minutes.

Information from the police, including details about the cause of the crash and the identification of the man, was not immediately available.
