The Macedonia Family Recreation Center will reopen June 1, with limitations, the city announced Friday.
When the facility reopens, entrances, check-ins and exits and the two stairwells will be one-way only. Everyone will need to sign-in. Locker rooms will have limited capacity. Locker room showers will not be available, but a pool deck shower will be available for swimmers. Lobby lockers and coat racks will be unavailable.
Each guest will be given a disinfectant bottle upon entrance to wipe down equipment after each use. Guests will return the bottle before leaving the Rec Center and each bottle will be sanitized before reuse. Additional touchless hand sanitizer dispensers will be installed throughout the facility.
Those experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or are not feeling well should stay home. In the instance of a confirmed case, staff will immediately shut down the facility for deep sanitation.
Water fountains will be disabled except for the bottle filling function.
Common items such as mats, medicine balls, and bands, etc. have been removed; those coming to the recreation center will be permitted to bring their own.
Tot Room services will be suspended until further notice. The activity pool and lap pool will be open for fitness swimming and aquatic exercise only. The basketball hoop, diving boards, rock wall, sauna, steam room and whirlpool will be closed. Common items such as pool noodles, weights and belts will not be available.
All memberships active as of March 13 will be extended by 80 days. Payment plan withdrawals will resume June 15.
All fitness classes, programs, indoor rentals, and wellness services will be suspended until further notice.
