The Hudson American Legion and Auxiliary, Lee-Bishop Post 464 will have a Memorial Day service at Markillie Cemetery on Monday, May 25.
The service is not open to the public but will be available for viewing on Hudson Community Television later that evening. The flag on the clocktower green will also be raised to commemorate the day. Although the Legion has canceled the Memorial Day Parade, group officials say it is important to not forget those men and women who have given their life for their country.
The program will include raising of the flag, laying of the memorial wreaths, a speaker, and taps.
The speaker will be Cindy Suchan-Rothgery, President of the Hudson American Legion Auxiliary and the Memorial Day Parade Chairman. She will be speaking on the 100th anniversary of the American Legion in Hudson.
"It is especially important to all of us that we remember the sacrifice of our service members and what they have given for our freedom," said Suchan-Rothgery.
