Packages stolen: A High Street man and woman reported May 6 that someone stole packages after they were delivered to their apartments in the same building during the previous few days. The man said the headphones in his package were valued at about $240 while the woman said the unidentified contents of her package were valued at about $30.
Temporary registration stolen: A Second Street man reported someone stole his vehicle’s temporary registration tag while the vehicle was parked outside his apartment building during the previous five days.
Man reports gun pointed: An Akron man reported that an unknown male driving a truck pointed a handgun at him before driving away in the area of Oakwood Drive and Fourth Street at bout 2 p.m. May 5.
Two pounds of marijuana found: Police said they charged a 19-year-old Marion woman with fifth-degree felony drug possession after they found a little over two pounds of suspected marijuana in a trash bag in her vehicle’s trunk following a traffic stop on Northhampton Road in the area of West Portage Trail at about 11:50 p.m. May 4. The woman was also charged with driving under suspension. She was taken to Cuyahoga Falls City Jail.
Officers spat at: Police said they charged a 31-year-old Akron woman with two counts of fourth-degree felony assault and one count of fifth-degree felony harassment by inmate after she allegedly tried to kick a police officer in the calf and spat at him and tried to kick and bite a second officer and spat on him while police were arresting her on Portage Trail at about 6:30 p.m. May 3. The woman was also charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct while intoxicated after she failed to obey orders to stop moving and swearing loudly. The woman was taken to Akron City Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Man reported attack in park: A homeless man reported two unknown males punched and kicked him after offering him heroin while he was in Ross Park off Charles Street at about 3:30 p.m. May 1. The man was taken to Western Reserve Hospital for evaluation of a possible head injury, said police. The man said the men left in a vehicle. Police said there were no witnesses or leads.
Breaking and entering
Tools stolen from garage: A Bailey Road man reported May 2 that someone stole tools totaling about $1,000 in value from his unlocked detached garage in late April.
Man arrested after windshield cracked: An Akron man, 27, was charged with misdemeanor criminal damaging and marijuana possession after an Akron woman reported the man cracked her vehicle’s windshield after repeatedly hitting it while the vehicle was in a Howe Avenue parking lot at about 8:20 p.m. May 2. Police said the damage was estimated at $300. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
Vehicle window smashed: A Chestnut Boulevard man reported May 2 that someone smashed one of his vehicle’s side windows while the vehicle was parked outside his home during the previous couple of days. Police said the damage was estimated at $300.
Window broken: A Meriline Street man reported someone smashed one of his home’s windows by unknown means at about 1:15 a.m. May 1. Police said the damage was estimated at $100.
Vehicle scratched: A Rainier Street woman reported someone left a scratch on the side of her vehicle while it was parked outside her home during the late afternoon May 1. A police report did not include a damage estimate.
Sugar put into gas tank: A Buckingham Gate Boulevard woman reported May 1 that someone put sugar into her vehicle’s gas tank while the vehicle was parked outside outside her home during the previous five days. Damage to the vehicle was not reported.
