Weapons charges

Gun found in pocket: A 22-year-old Akron man was charged with third-degree felony weapon under disability and fourth-degree felony carrying a concealed weapon after police stopped a vehicle the man was a passenger in for not having its headlights on in the area of State Road and Chestnut Boulevard at about 2:15 a.m. April 21. Police said they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found a loaded handgun in the man’s jacket pocket.
