CUYAHOGA FALLS — The $5.9 million project to reconstruct a section of Howe Avenue will start Saturday afternoon.

Eastbound Howe Avenue will be closed between Main Street and the Applebee’s driveway starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

This section of road will be closed until the completion of the project in late September.

Vehicles traveling east on Howe will be detoured south on Home Avenue, east on Independence Avenue and north on Buchholzer Boulevard. Two lanes of traffic going westbound will be maintained at all times between Main and Applebee’s, according to ODOT spokesperson Justin Chesnic.

ODOT had originally announced the project would start Saturday night, but a notice released Friday said the project will now begin at 1 p.m. Saturday.
