NORTHFIELD CENTER — The township’s CVS store shut down for part of Wednesday for cleaning after an employee tested positive for coronavirus, said CVS spokesman Michael DeAngelis in an email to the News Leader on Friday.
"The store was closed Wednesday morning in order to disinfect the premises following our established cleaning protocols and CDC guidelines," wrote DeAngelis. "It re-opened later that day after the cleaning was completed."
The store is at 9302 Olde Eight Road at the intersection with Route 82 and Brandywine Road.
Dawn Meyers, a spokeswoman for Summit County Public Health, said the county was informed that the employee is a "nurse practitioner." According to CVS’ website, the store contains a healthcare clinic called MinuteClinic.
Meyers said the company took action on their own without orders from the health department to do so.
DeAngelis said those involved are not currently working at the store for now.
"The employee and any co-workers exposed to the employee were placed under a 14-day quarantine consistent with CDC guidelines and will be on paid leave," he wrote.
DeAngelis did not provide any additional information.
