SILVER LAKE — Village Hall will close to the public starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday and will remain closed for "an indefinite period of time," said Mayor Bernie Hovey.

The mayor said the government building is open to the public today (Tuesday), but visitors are being restricted to the lobby. He added that residents are being asked to contact village officials through phone or email. Utility payments can be deposited in the drop box in the parking lot. Until further notice, service department employees will not enter a resident’s home to perform an inspection.

Hovey added that while water/sewer bills still must be paid on time, water shutoffs will be temporarily suspended.
