MUNROE FALLS — The city council meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. will take place as scheduled, but due to coronavirus concerns, the legislative body’s president has asked citizens to not attend.

"You have every legal right to do so and we do not have the right to exclude you at this time," said Council President Chris Ritzinger to residents on his Facebook page. "However, unless you have a pressing issue, please stay home and be safe."

Ritzinger said he is planning to discuss the possibility of reducing the number of council meetings for a period of time and to examine ways to livestream future meetings that will allow for community interaction.

"Rest assured your city government is doing anything we can to get through this health issue," said Ritzinger. "It is real and it is in the county and close by cities. Follow the health professionals’ advice and stay safe."
