CUYAHOGA FALLS —  Richardson Elementary School students were dismissed from classes early today after the building lost water service due to a water main break that occurred earlier this afternoon.

As of 2:40 p.m., the city’s water department was working to fix a water main break on 23rd Street near the school building, according to city spokesperson Kelli Crawford-Smith.

City officials are keeping school officials updated as the work occurs.

Parents are being instructed to pick up their children at Grandview United Methodist Church at 23rd Street and Phelps Avenue. 

Update: Water service had been restored as of 3:45 p.m., according to Crawford-Smith.
