STOW — Police say arrest warrants have been issued for a man and woman in connection with the armed robbery of the Graham Road Speedway service station and the theft of a station employee’s SUV Sunday morning.

In a press release they issued Wednesday morning, police said they have filed charges of first-degree felony aggravated robbery and fourth-degree felony grand theft of a motor vehicle against 38-year-old Shaun P. Phipps and 27-year-old Ashleigh M. Mayfield in Stow Municipal Court. Both are believed to be homeless, but are known to frequent the Akron/Canton area.

Phipps is described as white, 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. His last known address was Wilbur Drive in Akron.

Mayfield is described as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Her last known address was on Mission Drive in Akron.

Police said they responded to the service station after an employee of the Speedway station at 1045 Graham Road reported an unknown male and female had robbed the station at gunpoint at a little before 8 a.m. Cigarettes and cash of unspecified amounts were taken. Police said the suspects then took keys belonging to one of the employees and left in the employee’s vehicle, a silver 2016 Honda CRV with license plate GST6352, traveling east on Graham Road toward Route 8. Police said that as of Wednesday, the robbery suspects may still be in possession of the SUV.

Police Capt. Bryan Snavely said police are not releasing how much cash or cigarettes were taken during the robbery.

Anyone with information about Phipps’ and Mayfield’s whereabouts is asked to call the Stow Police Department at 330-689-5700.
