TWINSBURG — Route 91 between the Glenwood Drive roundabout and Post Road was reopened at about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, nearly 10 hours after a vehicle struck a utility pole and caused a power outage in the area, said Assistant Police Chief Bob Gonsiewski.
Gonsiewski said EMS evaluated the vehicle’s driver, a 26-year-old Granby Circle man, for a possible injury but did not take him to a hospital. The man was cited with failure to control, said Gonsiewski.
"Apparently he fell asleep and hit the pole," he said.
Gonsiewski said the crash was reported at 2:37 a.m. Police said the pole was broken and wires were hanging over the road.
FirstEnergy Corp. reported that about 180 customers were without power in the area Wednesday morning, but no outages were reported in the afternoon. Gonsiewski said he believes repairs were completed and power restored at around the time the road reopened.
