The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Greater Akron region.
The advisory covers Summit, Ashland, Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne counties, among others. It is in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday.
A mixture of rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow is expected, with up to 2 inches of snow and up to 0.1 inch of ice accumulations expected across much of Ohio.

The precipitation is expected to start out as all snow Wednesday evening and transition into a wintry mix as the night goes on. Rain is then expected Thursday morning as temperatures climb into the 30s.
Roads are expected to be slippery, with hazardous conditions possibly affecting the Thursday morning commute. Drivers are advised to use caution and allow extra time for commutes.
