Motorists driving along the Cuyahoga River will have to use Akron Peninsula Road instead of Riverview Road to get to and from Peninsula, as the Riverview Road Bridge is going to be closed for reconstruction through mid-June

The closure is set to start on Monday, Feb. 10 and continue for 125 days until June 15.

The bridge is located just north of the intersection with Bolanz Road in Cuyahoga Falls.

Tallmadge-based contractor J.D. Williamson Construction Co. will perform the $1.2 million project, which includes replacing the bridge deck and portions of the piers and abutments. This project is 100% funded with state and federal grants.

The detour route will be posted. The detour route involves Bolanz Road, Akron-Peninsula Road, and State Route 303. Access to Szalay’s Farm & Market will be maintained at all times via the Bolanz Road driveways. All work is subject to inclement weather.
