TWINSBURG — Are you a Twinsburg resident who is 50 or older, and want to put your trivia skills to the test?
Consider participating in the 2020 Mind Challenge for the New Majority. This trivia tournament, which debuted last year, will have 36 cities and senior centers participating this year, including Twinsburg, according to information at themindchallenge.com. Other are communities who will participate this year include Aurora and Streetsboro.
The contest, modeled after the NCAA basketball tournament, will start in January with team formations at the participating senior centers.
Ryan Kennedy, marketing coordinator for Twinsburg, said that the senior center's initial team formation round is Jan. 22 at 10 a.m.
After teams are formed, the tournament play goes to the regional level. Regional tournaments will take place in February, March and April at four locations in Mentor, Rocky River, Solon and Strongsville.
According to The Mind Challenge, there is no registration or participation fees.
The Final Four teams will compete May 6 at the Jack Thistledown Racino in North Randall. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four teams, with $3,500 for first place, $2,000 for second place, $1,500 for third place, and $1,000 for fourth place.

Other upcoming events
An all-youth class at Twinsburg Community Theatre will perform "Frozen Kids" Feb. 22 and 23 at the R.B. Chamberlin Middle School. The show, staged by the Twinsburg Community Theatre, is a musical that has been adapted to a 35 to 40 minute performance for families with children. Ticket sales will be announced in the coming weeks at TwinsburgTheatre.com.
The Feb. 22 show is at 7 p.m., and the Feb. 23 performances are at 1 and 3 p.m.
Country music fans will have the opportunity to hear several country acts Aug. 22 as part of the 2020 Rock The Park schedule. Country Fest will be the finale event for Rock The Park, Kennedy said. As well as music, the afternoon and evening will include food trucks, beer and wine.
Reggae Fest Cleveland also is expected to return May 30.
Details, lineup and ticket sales for these events, as well as the full Rock the Park lineup, will be released in April.
