SAGAMORE HILLS — Cuyahoga Valley National Park rangers are seeking the public’s help in identifying a male who allegedly assaulted a woman on the Old Carriage Trail in the township on Sunday morning, the CVNP posted on its Facebook page Monday night.

CVNP says that an unknown person wearing a ski mask assaulted a female runner, who escaped without injury, at about 11:30 a.m.

The suspect is described as a white male of average build and height, wearing a knit cap, dark ski gloves, dark zip-up heavy jacket and dark work pants. The clothing is not typical for a hiker or runner, CVNP says.

National Park Service rangers and local law enforcement officials are investigating.

Anyone with information that could help solve this case is asked to contact the National Park Service’s Investigative Services Branch by phone call or text to the ISB Tip Line at 888-653-0009. Tips can be submitted online by visiting www.nps.gov/isb and clicking "Submit a Tip."
