Breaking and entering
Gun stolen from motor home: A Tallmadge man reported Nov. 4 that someone entered an unlocked warehouse containing his mobile home in Southwest Avenue’s 200 block, then entered the motor home through an unlocked window and stole an approximately $500 handgun during the previous two days. The man said he found a half full can of soda in the motor home that had not been there before.
Computer taken at rec center: A Tallmadge woman reported someone stole an approximately $200 laptop computer belonging to Tallmadge Middle School from her 14-year-old son’s backpack while it was in a locker at the Tallmadge Recreation Center during the afternoon Nov. 3. A police report did not say whether there was forced entry into the locker.
Car window smashed: A woman reported Nov. 2 that someone smashed one of her car’s side windows, with the damage estimated at $300, while the car was in her apartment building’s parking lot in Colony Park Drive’s 500 block since the day before. Police said nothing was reported missing and it did not appear the vehicle was even entered.
Vehicle scratched: A Canton man reported someone scratched the side of his vehicle while it was in a parking lot in West Avenue’s 200 block during the late morning or afternoon Oct. 29. Police said the damage was estimated at $500.
Deer found dead: A woman reported discovering Oct. 30 that someone killed a small deer behind her home in South Avenue’s 100 block since the evening before. Police said it appeared the deer was killed with a bow and part of it removed.
