TALLMADGE – It will cost more to have fun.

Some fees for the Recreation Center, 46 N. Munroe Road, will see increases Jan. 1, 2020 and other changes may or may not affect everyone.

Council is expected to vote on the ordinance Nov. 14.

"We look at the grid [of fees] every year and evaluate it," said Mayor David Kline. "The governing board for the recreation center makes recommendations to Council."

The fees help to cover the operating costs of the center, Kline said.

"The recreation center is not a huge moneymaker but it provides a lot of nice services to Tallmadge residents and surrounding communities," he said. "We try to operate as close to the black as possible."

Programs that are not attended or tie up the facility were eliminated so other programs could benefit everyone, Kline said.

"I think it's a great place for increasing your physical and mental health," Kline said. "People talk to one another and make friends."
