BARKtoberfest is an opportunity for area residents to have some fall fun and beer tasting Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg.
Sponsored by Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., BARKtoberfest will feature craft beers, local vendors, a basket raffle, games, and adoptable dogs, cats and other critters to mingle with.
Guests will enjoy two 16 ounce beers, a pretzel necklace and a take home gift with the purchase of their ticket. The event will take place outdoors in the shelter’s backyard.
In addition to the opportunity meet some potential new pets, the event will allow guests to glimpse a side of the shelter not normally seen by the public, including dog playgroups in the renovated play yard demonstrating how and why play is important for dogs during their shelter stay.
Humane Society of Summit County President and Chief Executive Officer Diane Johnson encourages supporters, pet lovers and craft beer enthusiasts to visit BARKtoberfest.
"This type of an open house event is important to our mission because we get to meet new potential supporters and adopters who may not have an opportunity to see our work in an authentic way – while enjoying a fun evening with local craft beer," she said.
The $20 per person tickets are available only through pre-sale for the events, which is only open to pet and beer lovers age 21 and up. To purchase tickets and get more information, visit www.summithumane.org/barktoberfest. Ticket sales will close Friday at noon.
