Woman charged following crash: A 64-year-old Sagamore Hills woman was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, hit skip, assured clear distance ahead and weaving after police responded to a report that her vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle on Route 82 near Interstate 480 at about 8:05 p.m. Sept. 13. Injuries were not reported. Police said the woman drove away following the crash, but they stopped her on Route 82 by Longwood Park a short time later. She performed poorly on the field sobriety tests and her BAC level measured at 0.22 percent, more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit, said police. She was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released to an adult male relative.
Woman found in vehicle: Police said they charged a 21-year-old Macedonia woman with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and blood alcohol content after they found her allegedly intoxicated behind the wheel of a vehicle on Presidential Parkway near Gettysburg Drive at a little after 5 p.m. Sept. 8. Police said the woman’s BAC level measured at 0.189 percent, more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit. She was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
Account transactions reported: A Mathers Way man reported Sept. 9 that someone charged two fraudulent purchases totaling nearly $320 against his bank card. A police report was filed to document the incidents.
Phone stolen at school: An R.B. Chamberlin Middle School student reported Aug. 26 that someone stole her cell phone of unspecified value at the school during the previous few days.
