Drug possession

Woman charged during traffic stop: A Cleveland woman, 38, was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession after police stopped a vehicle the woman was a passenger in at a Macedonia Commons Boulevard store parking lot around 1 a.m. Sept. 2. The vehicle’s driver, a 55-year-old Akron man, was charged with misdemeanor operating a vehicle under the influence and marked lanes. Police said they found a substance in the woman’s purse that field tested positive as cocaine and the man performed poorly on the field sobriety tests. The man also provided a urine sample, said police, but a police report did not include test results. The woman and man were taken to Macedonia City Jail.


Bike taken from home: A Melody lane man reported that a young unidentified male took his bicycle of unknown value from outside his home during the late afternoon Aug. 31. Police said they had earlier seen a group of unidentified juveniles in the area and believed the male may have been with them.

Fraudulent charges reported: A Riverview Drive woman reported discovering Aug. 29 that someone charged two transactions totaling about $180 to her online bank account with a third $90 charge pending. The woman said she had already arranged to have all of her bank accounts blocked as a precaution.

Purchase made at store: A Florence Drive man reported Aug. 25 that someone charged a purchase of nearly $1,500, including a tablet computer and related items and video game equipment, to a store credit card at a Route 82 store in early August. The man said the store requested he file a police report.
