Criminal damaging

Mailbox door pried: A Darrow Park Drive woman reported discovering Aug. 25 that someone tried to pry open the back of the mailboxes outside her apartment building during the night. The woman said the back of the mailboxes is a large lockable sliding door for the mail carrier to access the individual boxes and the bottom was partially pried out. Police said the woman had already reported the matter to the U.S. Postal Service, which was investigating.

Arrest warrants

Police responded to 911 call: Police said that after responding to a 911 hangup call at an East Aurora Road restaurant at about 3:15 p.m. Aug. 24, they performed a computer check of the license plate number of a 43-year-old Cleveland Heights man’s vehicle as he drove it around the restaurant’s parking lot and discovered he was driving under suspension and wanted by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. The man was taken to Summit County Jail for the sheriff’s office to pick up.

Man wanted by court: Streetsboro police reported Aug. 22 that they had in custody a Maple Heights man, 25, wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on driving under suspension and speeding violations filed by Twinsburg police. The man was taken to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a 10 percent of $7,500 bond.

Disorderly conduct

Man needed ride: A Michigan man, 36, was cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after a Twinsburg man reported the Michigan man approached him and asked him to call 911 while they were at a Ravenna Road business at about 3:20 a.m. Aug. 22. Police said that when they arrived, they found the Michigan man was allegedly intoxicated and he wanted the Twinsburg man to call 911 because he needed a ride home. Police said they gave the Michigan man a courtesy ride to a local hotel instead.

Physical control

Woman passed out: A 24-year-old East Aurora Road woman was charged with physical control after police found her passed out and allegedly intoxicated while sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle in a Ravenna Road parking lot at about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9. The woman was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
