CUYAHOGA FALLS — Police shut down the Germaine Street and Myrtle Avenue intersection as a precaution for about 30 minutes after a man in a home there called a suicide help line saying he had a gun and was going to kill himself Wednesday evening, Police Chief Jack Davis said Thursday.

Davis said the call came in at 7:39 p.m. and after about a half hour, they were able to talk the 55-year-old man out and he was taken to Akron City Hospital.

No gun was found and no charges will be filed, said Davis.
