Woman given ride home: Police said that after they responded to a report of a woman walking in the road in the Northmoreland and Highland avenues area at about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 11, they found that the woman was trying to walk home to Akron after friends left her at Water Works Family Aquatic Center in Cuyahoga Falls. Police said they gave the woman a courtesy ride home.
Person with flashlight seen: Police said they responded to a Munroe Falls Avenue home after a neighbor reported seeing someone with a flashlight outside the home at around 2:45 a.m. Aug. 10. Police said they checked the area, but were unable to find anyone with a flashlight.
Woman working on computer: Police said that after they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in North Main Street’s 400 block at a little after 9 a.m. Aug. 8, they discovered a woman in the vehicle had stopped to do some work on her laptop computer.
No one found: Police said they responded to a report of someone shooting off fireworks on Charring Cross Drive near Cathy Drive at about 10:15 p.m. Aug. 10, but they were unable to find anyone using fireworks.

Beer bottles broken: Police responded to a church in Darrow Road’s 4000 block Aug. 5 after receiving a report that someone broke several beer bottles in the church’s parking lot during the previous few days. Police said security camera footage showed several people in the parking lot during the night, but they could not be identified.
Residents report thefts: At least five residents of a neighborhood on the north side of Lake Run Boulevard reported items were stolen from outside their homes during a two-day period in early August. Residents on Essex Court, York Drive and Woodbury Oval reported items missing that include wicker furniture from two patios, tools, a metal table, a hose in its holder, a flower pot and a plant and plant hanger.
Purse taken from shopping cart: A Stow woman reported someone took her purse containing credit cards, a bank card, $80, health and auto insurance cards, a Medicare card, Social Security card and a checkbook. The woman said she canceled the credit and bank cards and other financial items. No fraudulent transactions were reported. Police said security video from the part of the store where the theft took place was unavailable.
Glass door smashed: Police responded to a report that an unidentified male smashed a glass door of unspecified value at a business in Kent Road’s 4100 block during the late afternoon Aug. 2.
Man reports suspicious call: An Arndale Road man reported Aug. 2 that someone called him supposedly from a mediation collection agency and asked him for his Social Security number. The man said he did not provide the information. Police said there was evidence that the phone number the person called from was connected to a scam.
