Possession of drug paraphernalia
Traffic stop leads to citation: A 19-year-old Akron man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled him over on Howe Avenue and Route 8 for no headlights on July 21 at about 1 a.m. Police found a marijuana grinder with residue when they searched the man’s vehicle.
Man cited for two drug offenses: A 29-year-old Clinton man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance after police said they found the man in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police had executed a traffic stop on Broad Boulevard and 16th Street at about 8 p.m. July 17.
Vehicle damage reported by owner: An Akron owner said someone damaged her vehicle parked on Pierce Avenue by writing derogatory remarks with a black marker and also throwing dipping sauce on to the hood and windshield sometime between 3 and 10:30 a.m. on July 21. A second vehicle owned by a Pierce Avenue resident had its tires deflated. Police have a suspect.
Car set on fire: A Valencia Drive man said two people he knows allegedly set his car on fire in his backyard at about 7 p.m. July 19. The man’s yard and trees were all damaged, but the overall value of the damage is not known.
Resident says car stolen: A Northland Street man reported someone stole his unlocked vehicle sometime between midnight and about 6 a.m. July 17. The estimated value of the car is $2,000.
Man charged with attempting to take items from store: A 19-year-old Akron man was charged with theft on July 18 after a Howe Avenue store manager alleged the man took five items valued at $144 from the store without paying. The report said the man admitted to the theft and all items were recovered.
Tools removed from vehicles: A Tifft Street woman told police someone entered her and her husband’s unlocked vehicles and removed a backpack containing machinist tools and other work supplies without their consent sometime between July 16 at 8:30 p.m. and about 5 a.m. July 17.
Unlocked vehicle stolen: An Oakwood Drive woman reported her vehicle was stolen sometime between July 15 and 17. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside, according to the report.
Woman reports assault: A Fairlawn woman reported she was repeatedly punched in the head by a man she knows on Quick Road July 18. The report did not indicate whether the woman was injured. The case was referred to the prosecutor’s office.
Woman says name used to open credit card account: A Falls woman reported someone used her personal information to open a store credit card account online in her name. Two online purchases totaling $385 were made in September 2018. The woman was referred to the store’s fraud division for follow-up.
Breaking and entering
Home entered via use of force: An Albertson Parkway woman reported someone entered her home by force sometime between 9 p.m. July 13 and 9 p.m. July 17, and took multiple kitchen and bathroom items. The house is under construction and is currently unoccupied. Police do not have any suspects.
Burglary, criminal damaging
Man charged after officers find him inside home: A 55-year old Falls man was charged with burglary and criminal damaging after police say he allegedly entered a home on Bailey Road after breaking a rear window at about 6 p.m. July 15. The man was found inside the home without the permission of the owner, police said.
