A child who had to be rescued at WaterWorks Aquatic Pool in Cuyahoga Falls on Saturday is expected to fully recover.
City spokesperson Kelli Crawford-Smith said the child experienced a medical emergency on Saturday and lifeguards needed to perform a rescue. The Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department responded as well.
The child was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital where he was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.
Crawford-Smith said she could not specify the nature of the medical incident due to medical privacy law. She added staff members at WaterWorks Aquatic Center and the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department took "timely and appropriate steps."
There will be no changes to policy after this incident as it was a medical emergency.
