Physical control

Man found sleeping in vehicle: An Akron man, 24, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor physical control after a passerby reported seeing the man sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle in a Darrow Road parking lot near Interstate 480 at about 3:40 a.m. May 5. Police said they found the man still in the vehicle and allegedly intoxicated. He was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Arrest warrant

Man arrested during traffic stop: Police arrested a Cleveland Heights man, 33, after they stopped his vehicle for a display of license plate violation on Hadden Road at about 10:05 p.m. May 5 and they discovered he was wanted by Mayfield Village police for failing to appear in court for a traffic offense. Twinsburg police charged the man with driving under suspension and cited him for the license plate violation and turned him over to Mayfield Village police.


Co-worker allegedly threatened: A 46-year-old Cleveland man was charged with misdemeanor menacing after he allegedly threatened physical violence against a woman at their East Aurora Road place of employment May 4. The man was taken to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond.

Domestic violence

Woman punched while driving: A Stow man, 38, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after a passerby reported seeing the man and a woman fighting near a vehicle around the intersection of Liberty and Cannon roads at about 9:25 p.m. May 4, before the woman left in the vehicle. Police said they stopped the woman in the area of Cannon and Depot Road and found the man walking near where the fight was reported and they subsequently determined that the man had allegedly punched the woman in the head and pulled her hair while she was driving the vehicle on Liberty Road. Injuries to the woman were not described in a police report. The man was taken to Solon City Jail.

Driving under suspension

Man charged during traffic stop: A Bedford man, 52, was charged with driving under suspension after police stopped his vehicle for not having its headlights on on Route 91 near Interstate 480 at a little after 9 p.m. May 4. The man was given a written warning for the headlights violation, summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released.

Obstructing official business

Tries to run: A Ravenna Road man, 44, was charged with misdemeanor obstructing official business and driving under suspension after a Ravenna Road woman reported the man was at her home making threats against her at about 2 a.m. May 3. Police said that when they arrived, they saw the man leaving the home in his vehicle. After stopping him to investigate, the man tried to run from them. He was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond.

Animal at large

Dog bit boy: A Silverdale Circle man, 45, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor animal at large after a woman reported the man’s dog bit her 14-year-old son while loose near the man’s home at about 8 p.m. May 3. Police said the boy was treated at a local hospital. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Dog attacked: A Twinsburg woman reported that her dog was attacked by an unidentified dog while they were walking on Shady Wood Lane during the morning May 1. The woman said neither she nor her dog were injured.


Someone tried to cash check: A Hickory Hill Drive woman reported April 30 that someone tried to cash a check for an unspecified amount against her bank account.
