Soliciting: A company was cited May 1 for soliciting without a permit after a Birdsong Court woman reported a man came to her door twice in two days. An officer stopped the solicitor and found the company had no permit. The crew which was soliciting was warned not to continue until a valid permit was obtained.
Mutual aid: Aurora officers aided Streetsboro police May 4 in locating and arresting a Streetsboro man at a Shawnee Trail business. It was not indicated what the man was arrested for.
Theft: A Youngstown woman was charged with theft and possession of stolen goods May 7 after being apprehended on South Chillicothe Road with stolen merchandise in a bag valued at $260. She was released on bond.
Intoxicated man: A Clearbrook Lane man reported May 7 that an unfamiliar man was on his back porch and seemed disoriented. Officers located the Chagrin Falls man walking down the street in an intoxicated state. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest because he began pulling away from officers and refused to put his arms behind his back. He was released on bond.
Warrant incidents: A Liberty man was transferred May 6 from Niles police custody to Aurora on a warrant for robbery and theft. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.
During a traffic stop May 6 at Aurora Commons Circle, a Euclid man was found to have a warrant for failing to appear in court on a traffic offense. He was informed of the warrant and released.
Traffic accidents: An Aurora woman was cited April 24 for failing to yield at a stop sign after police said she exited Treat Road onto Route 43 and struck another Aurora woman’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
An Aurora man was cited April 26 for failing to yield after he exited Greenman Way onto West Pioneer Trail and was struck by an Aurora woman’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
An Aurora man was cited May 5 for assured clear distance after a crash on Route 82 at Route 306. Police said he struck an Aurora woman’s vehicle from behind, pushing it into an Aurora man’s vehicle. The man then backed up and struck a Garrettsville woman’s vehicle. No serious injuries were reported.
