CUYAHOGA FALLS — A Cuyahoga Falls High School student was injured Monday morning after a tile fell from the ceiling, hitting the student in the head.
The student was in math class at around 9 a.m., when the tile fell, Superintendent Todd Nichols said.
“The student was treated and will return to school,” Nichols said. “We are replacing ceiling tiles as they are identified by our custodial/maintenance staff.”
Nichols added he heard the student will be back in school tomorrow.
“When this type of tile falls, it is replaced if the tile has not been too severely damaged,” Nichols said. “We are unsure of how many have fallen over the years, but this is the first time that I can recall a student or staff member being hit by a falling tile.”
