Woman charged following crash: A 34-year-old Cleveland woman was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and blood alcohol content after a Kent woman reported she was following the Cleveland woman on Interstate 480 eastbound after the Cleveland woman struck her vehicle on Interstate 271 southbound in Oakwood at about 12:35 a.m. April 7. Police said that after they stopped the Cleveland woman, she performed poorly on the field sobriety tests and her BAC level measured at 0.184 percent, more than double the 0.08-percent legal limit. The woman was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond.
Man stopped for traffic violations: A Bedford man, 41, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, marijuana possession, speeding, weaving, and marked lanes after police said they clocked the man’s vehicle at 47 mph in a 35 mph zone and witnessed other traffic violations and stopped it on East Idlewild Drive near Ravenna Road at about 2:10 a.m. March 30. Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the man’s breath when he spoke, his eyes were red and glassy and his eyelids were drooping. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and his BAC level measured at 0.183 percent, more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit, said police. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
Items taken from store: A Ravenna Road store employee reported that an unidentified woman left the store without paying for a fashion tote, toys, and a pack of cigarettes totaling more than $90 in value April 6. Police said they were unable to find the woman in the area.
Man seen stumbling in road: A 45-year-old Diamond man was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct while intoxicated after police said they saw him stumbling while walking eastbound in the westbound Route 82 lanes at Interstate 480 at about 3:25 a.m. March 31. Police said they arrested the man after he refused multiple times to get into the back of a police car. He was taken to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond. Police said they later found a vehicle registered to the man with heavy damage nearby on the interstate.
Man arrested during traffic stop: A White Ash Trail man, 27, was arrested after police stopped him on Glenwood Drive at about 8 p.m. March 31 for no lighted lights and a partially obscured rear license plate and they discovered he was wanted by Northfield Village police for failing to comply with a court order on an assured clear distance ahead citation. The man was given a written warning for the violations and turned over to village police.
Man arrested in Streetsboro: Streetsboro police reported they had in custody March 31 a Moorland Drive man, 42, wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on traffic violations filed by Twinsburg police. The man was taken to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.
Woman had flat tire: Police said that after they saw a vehicle with a flat tire turn into an East Aurora Road service station at about 5:30 p.m. March 30, they discovered the driver, a 25-year-old Cleveland woman was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office. She was turned over to the sheriff’s office.
Woman arrested at home: A Twinsburg woman, 33, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after police responded to a domestic incident at her home and determined that she allegedly assaulted a man also living in the home on March 31. A police report did not describe injuries to the man. The woman was taken to Solon City Jail.
