Vehicle hit with brick: A Darrow Park Drive man, 32, was charged with aggravated menacing, telecommunications harassment and criminal damaging after a neighbor reported the man threw a brick at her vehicle, damaging it, while it was parked outside her home during the morning March 28 and that he had been harassing her by phone and through social media. A police report did not include a damage estimate. The man was taken to Solon City Jail.

Arrest warrants

Man reported as suspicious person: A 64-year-old Cleveland man was arrested and turned over to Maple Heights police on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on a disorderly conduct charge after police responded to a report that the man was stumbling around the parking lot of an East Aurora Road business and asking customers if he was in Warrensville Heights during the early evening March 28.

Man a passenger in vehicle: A Maple Heights man, 21, was arrested and turned over to Maple Heights police on an arrest warrant after police stopped a vehicle the man was a passenger in for a marked lanes violation on Interstate 480 eastbound at about 10:55 p.m. March 27. The vehicle’s driver, another Maple Heights man, was given a written warning for the traffic violation.

Identity theft

Man and woman charged: A New York man, 24, and a Pennsylvania woman, 23, were charged with felonies in connection with an allegation that they were fraudulently attempting to purchase cell phones and services for the phones totaling about $4,400 in value at an East Aurora Road store March 26.

The man was charged with fourth-degree felony taking the identity of another and fifth-degree felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property and minor misdemeanor marijuana possession while the woman was charged with identity fraud and receiving stolen property, both fourth-degree felonies, and cited with minor misdemeanor open container.

Police said an investigation determined that the man and woman used someone else’s personal identifying information and the man tried to use a forged Pennsylvania driver’s license in the attempted purchase. Police said they also found an alleged fraudulent credit card in the man’s possession. Police said they found eight cell phones in the man and woman’s vehicle that were allegedly stolen from stores in Stow and Eastlake.

The man was taken to Summit County Jail. The woman was not immediately charged with the felonies and a warrant was issued for her arrest following an investigation.

Woman reports suspicious call: A Twinsburg woman reported March 26 that someone claiming to work for the Social Security Administration called and her and she gave the person personal information before becoming suspicious and she hung up. Police said they told the woman she should monitor her credit reports.

Driving under suspension

Woman wanted on warrant: A Presidential Parkway woman, 24, was charged with driving under suspension after police stopped her for a marked lanes violation on Route 91 near Summit Commerce Parkway at about 9:05 p.m. March 27. The woman was given a warning for the traffic violation and turned over to Bedford police on an arrest warrant for driving under suspension and a traffic control device violation.

Man charged during traffic stop: A Sharonbrook Drive man, 21, was charged with driving under suspension, open container, rear license plate illumination and seat belt after police stopped his vehicle on East Aurora Road at about 9:35 p.m. March 25. The man was summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released.

Operating a vehicle

under the influence

Police respond to call: A Gettysburg Drive man, 48, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content test refusal, marked lanes and failure to use a turn signal after another motorist reported seeing the man swerving and tailgating other vehicles while eastbound on Interstate 480 at a little after 10 p.m. March 26. Police said that after seeing the man commit multiple traffic violations, they stopped him. He was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond to a relative.

Man stopped for weaving: A 62-year-old Presidential Parkway man was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content and weaving after police stopped his vehicle on Gettysburg Drive at about 12:20 a.m. March 18. Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the man’s breath, his speech was slurred, his eyes were red and glassy and his eyelids were drooping. He performed poorly on the field sobriety tests and his BAC measured at 0.163 percent, more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit. The man was taken to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond.

Domestic violence

Threat reported: A Twinsburg woman, 25, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after a man in her household reported she made a threat during a March 25 domestic disturbance. The woman was taken to Solon City Jail, from where she was later released on a personal bond.
